Aspen Ladd began her journey into combat sports at the age of 14. Aspen Ladd trained in kickboxing, BJJ, boxing, and wrestling prior to her first appearance as an amateur at WCFC aged 18. Ladd gained momentum from this victory and began a 3 fight winning streak at Ultimate Reno Combat finishing her opponents in the opening round in each fight. In WCFC Ladd fought, she defeated Leslie Rodriguez with a unanimous vote. Aspen beat Silvia Babaeghian Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 before taking on Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia beat Aspen and defeated her in an unanimous decision. This put an ominous mark on her record as an amateur. Ladd rebounded from her loss in the final by beating Roma Pawelek in Tuff-N'-Uff, which brought her record to 8-1. Aspen turned professional in 2015 when she signed with Invicta FC to make her professional debut. She fought Ana Carolina Vidal at Invicta FC 11 and dominated her to secure a first-round TKO. Invicta Combat Championships 16, She took the following match with Amanda Cooper through a second-round submission via armbar. Aspen employed her skills in wrestling to knock out McGill by TKO in the third round (elbows and punches). The next fight was against Jessica Hoy at Invicta FC 18 in the weight class of catchweight(138.1lb) as Ladd was unable to reach the weight limit. Aspen defeated Hoy and finished her in the second round via TKO. Invicta FC 21, she took her victory in the final bout of the promotion with a unanimous decision. Aspen Ladd debuted in the UFC at UFC Fight Night 118, with a bout against Lina Langsberg. She dominated Lina through her ground and pound tactics which resulted in a TKO second round victory. The next time she fought Tonya EVINGER at UFC 229, her victory was even more impressive. Ladd ended Evinger in the opening round, and was awarded a performance of the night bonus. Her first major fight at her debut fight at the UFC Fight Night dos Anjos Vs. Lee rematch against Sijara Ebanks. The two fighters put on an exchange of blows that culminated with Ladd winning via unanimous decision and each fighter getting the Fight of the Night bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie stopped Ladd's winning streak in just 16 seconds. Then she bounced back and defeated Yana Kunitskaya in the third round at UFC at ESPN 7. She faced Norma Dumont as a substitute in her last fight with the UFC at UFC Fight Night 195. It was a unanimous decision against her.
