
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson (born July 10, 1980)[1] is an American performer, actress and philanthropist, as well as an entrepreneur. Simpson aged 17 years old, started her career in church choirs. The singer signed with Columbia Records in 1997. Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut album, sold two million copies in America. The single "I I Wanna Love You Forever" was a commercial smash. Simpson's sophomore studio album, Irresistible was a more mature release. The album's title track was Simpson's second-highest charting Billboard Hot 100 entry. In her previous career, Simpson became known for her relationship with , and later wedding to Nick Lachey along with whom she appeared on the MTV reality TV show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 and 2005. Simpson's first Christmas album ReJoyce was released in 2004 and it was certified gold. Her debut in the film The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) as Daisy Duke. She also composed her own cover of "These Boots are Made for Walking" to be used in the soundtrack of the film. The year 2006 saw the release of her fifth studio album A Public Affair. She was also in the romantic comedy movie Employee of the Month. Simpson was a convert to country music following the release of her sixth album Do You Know (2008). Simpson also launched The Jessica Simpson Collection, an apparel-focused line that includes 34 categories of products. The company is the most profitable known celebrity licensing company that has more than $1 billion in revenue to the present. She also starred on the reality TV show The Price of Beauty in 2010 and was judged on fashion trends on two seasons of Fashion Star between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson, with whom she has three children.
